My journey started in 2017 when I began a side business of buying houses, fixing them up, and selling them for a profit while working as an insurance agent. In 2019, Marlon came into my life and business, and together we gained more experience. Friends and family started noticing our work on houses and began asking us to do the same for them. This is when we realized there was a niche for a business, particularly among our own friends and family.
After conducting a financial analysis, we realized that starting an official business in this niche was a good opportunity. In 2019, we established MJ Renovation, a company that provides renovation services to our community, transforming their houses into homes, all while staying within a budget and maintaining the same level of quality service as other big companies.
Initially, we started working part-time, only on weekends and holidays, as I continued my full-time job as an insurance agent and Marlon worked as a contractor for his cousin’s company.
The demand for our services quickly grew, so we decided to seize the opportunity and work in the business full-time. This move resulted in tripling our revenue from the first year. Our growth surpassed all expectations, which is why we have confidence in the business and continue to invest in the company.
